:: "Savage Huskies" On The Big Screen?

My college has an upcoming festival/show in February, at which students will be able to present their video productions on a silver screen, complete with red carpet, popcorn and movie posters!

On the left is a poster for an updated "SH" trailer, which will be shown at the festival. This enhanced version will feature a higher video resolution (1080p), and a few color corrections.

In other news, 2010 will be an animation/movie year, starting with "Heritage".

:: "Heritage" News

The project schedual has changed a bit, bumping the 8 part animated movie series: "Heritage", in full production, setting aside "Savage Huskies 2" until next year, 2011.

"Heritage" tells the story of mankind's first manned exploration of the alien planet, "Ethonia", and their accidental first contact with primative Ethonian and Akeshi tribes. It is an origins story, explaining the beginning of Ethonia's first monarchy, and the cultural seperation between both indigenous species, ultimately destroying an ancient Ethonian culture by having them follow the way of modern man.

The technology used to create this series will be similar to that used in the "Savage Huskies" trailer (see below, in older news updates), allowing far greater effects, the use of 3D, a higher video quality, and more realistic camera shots.

The narrative story telling of this series will be slow, focusing more on characterization, story, plot, with little to no action.

:: "Savage Huskies 2"

Thanks to the success of "Savage Huskies" it has been decided to give the dogs one more mission:


"Savage Huskies 2" will be a short production (and because of this, it will be an adregalus.net exclusive only, unlike the first game), and is intended to be one of my final projects for college.
After this, production will begin on two animated movies: "Adregalus: Heritage", and possibly "Forgotten Rites".

As for the game's details: the game plan is complete, the story has been written, and development will begin next year. Expected release date is 3rd Quarter 2010.

Currently, SH2 is planned to be a prequel, taking place 25 years before SH1. Those who have read the lore will know what it is about.

More info on "Savage Huskies 2":

In less than one week, the old engine has been improved, tweaked, and a few new features have been added. So without further ado, here are the core features of "Savage Huskies 2"!

- The Player can toss grenades at an angle, which can bounce off walls and hit enemies from behind. There will be some tactics involved with these too, such as throwing a grenade into an open tank hatch to damage a boss character.

- It is now possible to pick up vehicles and throw them! You can even break them down into multiple parts and throw those as well (tires, gears, etc...).

- Entirely new enemies and player character. Nothing will be re-used from SH1. New enemies include grenadiers (you destroy them, they explode, damaging anything in the area).

- Improved collision detection. The primary attack range is bigger.

- It is now easier to pull off combos. No more insane button mashing.

- You can select between secondary weapons, rather than having only 1 across the game.

- Faster & more intense. This game takes place in a warzone. Things will explode, hangers will crumble. Lots of animated background effects.

- Since this game is a college project and development time will be severely limited, there will be only 1 stage at most, perhaps even 2.

Expect a lot of concept artwork, screenshots and more, beginning January 2010.
Estimated release date is Summer 2010.

After a year and a half in development, "Savage Huskies" is finally complete!

With over an hour and 15 minutes of game play, and over 16MB in size, "Savage Huskies" is the biggest game on this site.

Frequent visitors may have noticed that the majority of the news regarding "Savage Huskies" is off the front page. The reason of this, is that we are preparing to launch a new site for the game, which will include: mechanical designs, story break down, factions, enemy data cards, videos and of course, the game itself. In the mean time, check out a brand new minute long trailer at youtube (includes brief gameplay footage, showing off bosses and new features):


"Savage Huskies" is a 2D brawler game, to be released only at Adregalus.net late this year, or early 2010.

The game is currently 13MB in size, and will most likely end up being around 15-18MB.
Total gameplay time: 1 hour, 30 Minutes from start to finish, without cutscenes.
