Akeshi Tribes
The Nachenyu Culture

The Nachenyu cherish the skies, and everything beyond it as sacred. They believe, as well as all other Akeshi, that the creators of their species were of flesh and blood. Instead of believing that which is written in scrolls, books, or words passed on by the ancients, the Akeshi actually have solid physical evidence of these creators, but keep them under severe security and secrecy.
There is little known about these “creators” or “teachers”, but it is commonly taught to young Akeshi cubs that in the highest mountains of Ethonia there lie cities of these ancient gods. These locations are impossible for humans or Ethonians to reach, not only because machines and technology are unable to function anywhere near them due to an unknown electrical interference, but because of the harsh cold winds and deadly weather which engulf these mountains. Satellites are unable to penetrate the static they record from space while looking down at these locations.
It is told that the ancient teachers want the Ethonians and Akeshi to mature as a species, in order to reach these locations on their own, without the use of technology. Only then would the species be worthy enough to be visited again by the teachers and brought into the next step of their evolution.
Currently, only a few Akeshi are physically and mentally strong enough to break through the harsh deadly conditions and place foot onto these sacred grounds, which house the cities of the ancient gods. What the visiting Akeshi have seen, has changed their lives significantly and made them even more the believers than before.
No Akeshi would ever tell anyone, Ethonian of human, of what they’ve seen, or risk breaking the ancient rule given to them.

The Kauraji Culture

Belief
The Kauraji believe in the common Akeshi tale of creation, that the “observers” came down from the heavens and blessed Ethonia’s most promising species with intellect and culture. The tribe also believes that all beings contain certain energies, which flourish during life, and is then later released upon death, thus becoming one with the planet’s own energy fields.
Life-Style
The Akeshi who follow the Kauraji tribe are looked down upon by other tribes for being “too comfortable” and lacking any motivation to ensure the advancement of their species, through the teachings of their creators. Instead, the Kauraji live the way they see fit, and only wish to pass on their knowledge to help the Ethonians.
In the past, the Kauraji have personally taught a few Ethonian tribes the knowledge of astronomy, architecture, language, arts and the basics of establishing and maintaining a steady culture. Ever since the modernization of the Ethonian culture, through the help of the humans, the Kauraji have slowly abandoned their roles as teachers and have returned to their own tribe to continue their own way of life.
Habitat
The Kauraji have made the thick tropical jungles of eastern Ethonia their homes. They live in structures made of wood or stone, built within the landscape, making all of nature more or less their village. They have learned to live and coexist with nature, rather than to live off it.
Species
The majority of the tribe are from the Akeshi I’Jatu species, with only 20% being Suyas.
Leadership
The current chief is the matriarch “Miakoda”, a 62 year old Akeshi who is seen as a strict, but fair ruler and individual. The tribe’s leadership is determined by bloodline, except for the chief elder, who is elected by the people and assists the chieftain.
Semareyu
An Akeshi warlord of the Nachenyu. She was born and raised in the Kauraji tribe, but later sent to the Nachenyu due to political issues. The relationship between the two factions is disrupted at best, thus a cultural exchange program was initiated to build a bridge between the two. Semareyu eventually found a Nachenyu mate and decided to remain with the tribe, in hopes of this being a positive sign for both factions.
