Uraeus Solar System
Discovery
First discovered on ancient star maps hidden away within pre-historic libraries, the Uraeus solar system is more than many tens of light years away, containing a total of 12 planets, two of which can support intelligent life.
Along with maps to this system, other ancient star maps have shown points of interest near Orion’s Belt, Sirius B, Alpha Centauri, and Zeta Reticuli. Ethonia was the first habitable Earth-like planet to be found while searching these stars and systems. Because of this, the Uraeus system became the first to be thoroughly investigated with many robotic drones, eventually leading to a manned exploration team.
What drove mankind to go forth and venture the stars was not only the satisfaction of commercial profit, but to solve a mystery which predates any known Earthly civilization: Who created these star maps? For what purpose? What do these stars and systems contain?
Where do these bread crumbs lead us to next? Is this a path to an amazing discovery which will shake the foundations of our species? Or is it nothing more than a quest our species must take to evolve as a whole?
Regardless of the answer, mankind has an instinctive drive to venture out and explore new worlds.
The Name
“Uraeus” is from the Ethonian language and is translated to: “All That Which Is”. Coincidentally it is also an Earth term for the stylized spitting cobra, which is a symbol for the goddess Wadjet, representing sovereignty, royalty, deity and the divine authority in ancient Egypt.
More space-related Ethonian words:
Galaxy: Asaka (Sky)
Solar System: Shiba (Village)
Planet: Toske’ (House)
Universe: Uraeus (All That Which Is)
